Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics PhD Program

The Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics (BCMB) Ph.D. program strives to be an intellectually robust and inclusive community of scholars with a common interest in integrating chemistry, biology, mathematics, and physics to understand the molecular basis of life. The resources underlying our research efforts are broad, with outstanding facilities for contemporary research in structural biology, drug discovery and development, metabolism, cell biochemistry and imaging, protein biophysics, plant biochemistry, agricultural biotechnology, molecular genetics and many other allied areas of our core fields. A doctoral degree tells the world that you stand at the edge of human understanding. It means that you have mastered a system of critical thinking and creative problem solving that can be applied to virtually any challenge.
